I've prepared animation of this spring model:
I can easily animate spring compression through consolidated techniques (like in attached video).
Is there a chanche you can simulate spring compression and torsion at the same time ?
I'm attaching files I used (SolidWorks 2013 version).

I agree, but I think you there's some software limitation that doesn't allow you to do that. If you try editing the turns, soliworks shows you the angle, which can have only values between 0 and 360. So if 360 is 1 turn how can you parametrize spring torsion when you have more than one turn ?

you can ignore the wanring about having a number between 0 and 360 - I do it all the time. though I do usually us an equation when I do...
shouldn't it be an equation of number of turns and how far around it has gone? almost like an if statement
animate only right? not simulate?
can you predict the torsion shape? i think you'd ahve to do the same thing you did to make the spring compress. predict how the model will change and "program" it into your dimension changes.
