I am a new user to Solidworks. Is there a easy way to pick the surface/edge of a non-shaded component? For some parts, it's easier to make it wireframe and then pick the surface that was hidden.
It's for measuring and mating purpose.
You can press shift and select a transparent face.
Also set these option to under Tools > Options > Display/Selection:
Thanks a lot.
That's exactly what I was looking for.
By the way, what is HLV?
And one more question Deepak, can you recommand a way to do select others? I am exhausted to pick the right surfaces...
HLV : Hidden line Visible
For selecting other surface, you can use the option select other. And while select other is on, if you right click on a surface/face then it'll get hide during that command is active or till you make a selection. Check attached video a quick detail.
Thanks a lot, Deepak!
Hahaha. I've been using SolidWorks since 2001+ and never knew this. Thought the only way was to rotate model until there was no component behind the transparent face you're trying to select. I just had a friend ask this question and wanted to double-check when I stumbled across this thread. Thanks Deepak!!! Lifesaver
