This will probably be an easy one for someone.
For some reason I opened an Assembly File this morning to find that it is being displayed as transparent in the assy file and dwg file.
Anyone know why this is?
Without more information I can't speculate about how it got that way, but have you tried clicking on the file name at the top of the tree and selecting the "Change Transparency" icon?
Do you use realview? If so, is it possible that realview was not "on" when it was showing solid but got turned on and is now showing the realview matl?
Also check the component display state or check if a new display state has been made with transparency on for all components.
nothing has seemed to work so far.
Any other ideas?
Is this a particular assembly? Can you attach files here to check.
Please see attatched file.
It only seems to go transparent when I have it opened at the same time as the drawing file.
Thanks for helping.
You need the change the assembly display to shaded with edges. In your assembly (ADVERTISING PANEL) it is set to show hidden lines. If you still see the transparency simply force rebuild (using ctrl +Q).
I know how the display options for changes the look of the assembly.
But the problem with the file is it will stay in a transparent state no metter what display option i select.
BTW the assembly remains solid for me also on creating drawing like Kelvin, so probably you need to update the video card drivers.
You didn't include the drawing file.
On my system, the assy appeared solid upon opening and remained solid after creating a drawing.
Have you updated the SW version or SP or graphics driver recently?
Are you using an approved graphics card?
Have you run the SW Rx diagnostics tool?
So I ahev looked at everyones comments and still can figure it out.
So far this is what happens:
If I open the assy file the assy will be displayed as normal (solid with edge lines).
But If I open the dwg file the assy then changes to transparent.
I have no idea what is going on.
Also I just noticed that even trying to change the display style will not do anything.
Every selection shows the Assy as transparent.
My co-op just called me over with the same problem. He said it showed up at the end of the day yesterday and remained there today. We tried everything above and still the assy shows as a transparent assy. Opening each part there is no issue, part looks normal. Definitely weird.
Brent & Mark,
Make sure the recent spate of Windows updates hasn't changed the graphics driver, or enabled an integrated adaptor.
Also, unless you absolutely need them, delete all Display States.
