I have one part that has three configurations. i would like to insert a BOM or Table in my drawing that will list out all three configurations of that one part file.
Is this possible?
Create a Design table in the part and then insert the design table in the drawing.
do you know how to remove this dotted line border by chance?
It is odd but when I add a design table, the dashed lines stay showing until I save the dwg and Part, then open the drawing and they are gone. They do not print on a printed sheet even when showing.
You could create an assembly with a copy of the part in each configuration, then create a drwaing of that assembly, each configuration would be listed
This really is the worst functionality of the BOM table, having to create an extra assembly file w/2 different configurations (which already exist at the part level) is a huge waste of time and space.
solidworks needs to fix this function ASAP...
You can cheat the extra file by making multiple bodies in a part file and config. each 1 differently then hide those bodies or you can leave them in the part and either hide the drawing view in the drawing file or create the BOM on the drawing sheet with the multiple bodies drawing view, and then (if using 2013-2014) drop the BOM on another sheet, which is a new feature.
The idea that i cant attach the multiple configs to the BOM with out an assembly is mind blowing! Anyone who is using this software for overstock parts of their assemblies need to have identical parts be nested into 1 BOM without having an assembly!!!
