Hi Deepak, it’s good to hear from you, Yes that would be great if you can make a macro to use rename the cut list folders based on the description of the solid body, you may need to add some prefix at the end of the folder name since it may not let you use the same
name already entered for the solid body. But the main goal would be to the change the standard description property name for something more meaningful like the name of the body that is already there and use it on the bill of materials.
The folder name can be based on the description property of the solid body.
But are you looking to rename folder based on the solid body name OR are you looking to rename the body also??
[Looking to rename cut list folder based on the solid body name]. And if the same string can be used to rename the description property of the cut list that would be great.
Not sure how easy it would but I would give it a try.
This tread should be on the API forums where we can get some input from other users with programing background, but the system won’t let me. [Subscription service is current]. Before going solo on it will wait to see if someone has attempted something similar.
If I'm understanding correctly, you want to rename the folder based on the description of the body contained in the folder.
It can be done but this would rename all the folders under Cutlist even created by weldment feature. If that can work for you then I can make the macro for you to try/use.
