I have been using draftsight as a replacement for autocad to update and print dwg drawings.  When printing the drawings, it takes draftsight several seconds to bring up the print window in order to set print properties, and then can take several more seconds to send the data to the printer once it is selected. 

Is this typical?  How can it be made faster.

Running on Windows 7 64 bit system.
