Here is another issue I am having…
I drew this part from scratch ---and when I try to open it now---it keeps trying to act like it’s a imported file—for example a igs,or stl type file .
Solidworks wants to run feature recognition on it. And I have never saved it as any other file type other than a SLDPRT. What is going on with Solidiworks???
actually - the feature tree on the left looks a lot like somebody imported this file.
and you can tell SW no, you do not want to run feature recognition.

Thank You for the reply, and yes I know the feature tree shows looks like it has been imported, but that is what I am trying to saying- I am the only user of SW here at the office, And I have never exported or "saved as" this part to any other format other than a .SLDPRT. I have even gone back to backed up files from our server-from moths ago and tried opening it. no luck- And this is not the only file that this is happening to. If I say no, I can't modify my part as in the drawn mode with extrusions,fillets,revolve cuts etc...and if I do run it it is destroying the part, disfiguring and missing faces, and or un able to heal all missing faces. I cant use that as It is needed for rendering for a presentation. very frustrating.
when did you make the file originally? and what version and SP of SW are you using? can you post one of the files for the rest of us to dig through?
I believ it was a SPO. issue as the parts we created in a super old version 08', after a long weekend of system clean up ,re-install, Tech support- (Thanks Amee & Wayne) and updates.. all seems to be working fine now. Thank you for the mind breaker, to check out SPo levels.
It looks like an assembly has been saved as part file for some reason or by mistake. Please check if there is any assy with same name or parts with same name as listed in the feature tree.
