I'm looking for some opinions on video cards.
I've got a limit of about $600 or so to spend.
Here are the ones I'm looking at:
Crucial Radeon X1900 GT 256MB PCI Express
Crucial Radeon X1900 XTX 512MB PCI Express
NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500
ATI FireGL V5200
Is there any you guys would recomend in this price range? I'm needing it for large assemblies and cosmos works.

Also don't expect any gain in CosmosWorks from a video card, a few sticks of ram or a cpu upgrade would do a lot more for Cosmos.
It's a P4 CPU but I don't remember the speed off hand, it was purchased in April so it's a fairly new machine. We upgraded the memory to 4GB over the summer and that helped some. Right now I've got an ATI 3100 card.
You have an old NetBurst P4 architecture cpu. Intel's new Core 2 Duo architecture are the new speed demons. Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 @ 2.66GHz or an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.40GHz will get you better performance then your current P4 cpu.
Please when you get back to the office get us complete specs and manufacturer of your current rig. Then the peeps here can give you a better answer to your question.
If I was spending money on a video card I would be getting the Nvidia FX 1500.
HP xw4200
XP SP 2
3 GHZ P4
4 GB of memory
current video card is
ATI FireGL V3100
Even if you don't have a specifc recomendation to a certain card what are some specs that I should be on the lookout for? I'm the only person here using CAD so the IT guys don't really no what to look for in a good card so I'm spearheading this.
You might try doing a cost analysis on upgrading your processor as well. As Anna said, the Intel Core 2 Duos are the speedster of today...
I had a friend pass this chart along might be of some use to other people in the same boat as I am. http://www.mcadonline.com/tables/gcards.html
I think I want to stick to the one slot cards.
If you also look at http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_11761.html I would also concider the FX560 as an alternative, depending on budget for that "old" computer.
