How do you do it? I can merge rows but not cells. The Merge Cell feature is grayed out everytime I select multiple cells to merge.
If you select the first cell then CTRL- select or SHIFT- select the second cell then this will NOT work!
The trick is to select the first cell then while still holding down your mouse button select the next cell by DRAGGING the pointer. No need to use CTRL or SHIFT.
I've just found an odd thing with this command.
If you CTRL- select two adjacent cells, you do not have the option to merge them.
If you SHIFT- select two adjacent cells, the 'Merge' icon is greyed out / unavailable. But if you then immediately do RMB you get a secondary menu and the 'Merge cells' command IS available! see attached screenshot.
As described in my previous post, Click and drag two adjacent sells to get both the 'Merge' icon and also the RMB second menu 'Merge cells' command.
Wow another Solidworks mystery solved.
