So I have created a platform as one part using weldments (attachment 1). I now want to make a drawing that I can balloon each indiviual part, which I will detail out on the next page. How can I do this? Should I not have built it all in one part? It was just easiest that way instead of multiple parts and then creating an assembly.

When I insert the BOM, there is only 1 row filled out, with the part name in it. How can I have it fill out the indiviual cuts of material that I will detail (and number again) on the next page?
because you used weldments the BOM will read everything as one part. you want to use the weldment cutlist bom. its a button in the tables toolbar with a weldment symbol in the corner

As Brandon said, you need a Weldment Cut List instead of a BOM. And while some people will break a multi-body weldment part into seperate part files for detailing, I don't see any need for it. You can easily detail seperate bodies with the "Select Bodies" button that I posted the screenshot of in the post Christopher linked to.

I agree with you that it's not necessary for detailing in general, but from reading here I know a lot of people still do it. They may have other reasons, such as splitting a complex weldment into seperate part files for fabricating by different people.
we even took it a step further using combine features we basicly brought assemblies and sub assemblies into part space. that way once you combine everything instead of working with a full cut list the weldment cutlist pulls the 20 assemblies you made. only ran into a couple bugs so far but nothing that cant be worked around.
