I am fairly new to the notion of configurations can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong?
I have two different types of fence panels I am making but when i put them into an assembly they do not reflect what they look like in the lower assembly.

I have uploaded the seperate assy files and a screen shot of what is happening in the top level assembly.
Do you know why this is happening?
You need to upload the rest of your files so we can see the assembly.

To help you with getting the two parts into the assembly, Pack and Go is very nice for this job. You will also need to click on "Use advanced editor" in the upper right corner of your reply to add the zip file.

I used the pack anf go feature but something went wrong.
The new ASSY files are up.
the file you have attached needs the 2 subparts to be able to actually see what it is your doing, but that aside, you have no configurations in your Assembly.
i would assume that you have 2 confiurations in the part WB1 and want to see one of each in the assembly? if that is the case you can just right click on the part in the feature tree and go to configure component then select the confiuration you want to see for that part.
if you want the assembly to reflect the 3 possible combinations of your 2 components then you will need to set up a configuration for each of the 3 combinations (WB1 config 1 & WB1 config 1, WB1 config 1 & WB1 config 2, WB1 config 2 & WB1 config 2), then set your part configurations as stated above for each config.
if you set your 3 configurations in the assembly first then select both parts in the feature tree before you right click you can change all the configurations all at once. (took me a while to work that one out.
