When inserting a BOM into a drawing, the screen intensity/brightness drops about 50% - any ideas? I restart SW2013x64 SP4.0 and the screen is back to normal. I can work in the model environment with no issues. Drawing environment is fine untill I insert a BOM. Then the screen fades by 50% or more.
Is this SW relataed or my video card? Any Ideas?
I don't know why a BOM would have any effect on the screen brightness but you may get more answers if you let us know what graphics card and driver you are using.
I am using a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800 - V295.73
I have the same issue. I am currently using Solidworks 2012 x64 SP1.0 on Windows 7 Pro Service Pack 1 64 bit. My video card is an NVIDIA Quadro 2000. I've tried many different NVIDIA driver releases and that has not helped. My IT group is slow to roll out updates so I haven't been able to try different service packs for Solidworks.
I'm also having the same problem.

First thing to try is the SOLIDWORKS Rx > Diagnostics tool to see if it reports errors.
Are you using a Windows Aero theme?
What Windows Control Panel > Power Options settings are you using?
Do you have the NVIDIA Control Panel > Program Settings set to Dassault Systemes SolidWorks?
Thanks doing SOLIDWORKS Rx > Diagnostics it recommends that I download the latests driver.
All the others were already set correctly.
Make sure the "Add nView options to systems menus" is turned off in the nView Desktop Manager - User Interface settings.
I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner to this thread. I solved this problem for myself a few months back. I had been updating to the latest NVIDIA drivers hoping they would fix the issue. I made sure to select a "clean installation" each time I updated the drivers. However, I don't believe the "clean installation" completely clears the drivers from your computer.
For whatever system you have, follow the instructions to completely remove your video drivers. I've seen computers that have multiple versions of the same driver package installed. Whatever you do, make sure everything is removed. Restart your computer as many times as you have to in an attempt to rid your computer of any video drivers.
Once you have completely rid your computer of drivers, install the latest set of drivers for your system. This worked for me. Hopefully it will work for others.
