Can I disable grid display permanantly

Thanks Mike, but I had that unchecked already. I need a system setting change and that takes you to the current document settings. I am running 2006 and it doesn't work.

This is what I did in SW 2005:
Click on the "Tools" pulldown, then "Options". In the dialog box left pane select "Relations/Snaps" under "Sketch". The dialog box changes and a button labeled "Go to Document Grid Settings" appears. Click on it. At the top of the new dialog box uncheck the box for "Display Grid", then click on the "OK" button. From now on when you draw in a sketch the grid won't (shouldn't) pop up. Wasn't that easy? ;-) Hope it works for you, too.

I get very tired of constantly having to turn the sketch grid off. I never use it, and want it disabled.
