Hi does anybody have an idea why solidworks does this when you dimension two of the same radii?
its been happening a lot recently any help would surely be appreciated.
It's a little flaky, isn't it?
What it looks like happens is that when you use a multi-jog leader for your radial dimensions, you lose the ability to flip the arrows or drive them to the inside of the arc.
However, if after creating the radius dimension and all of it's branches, you can fix the dimension display by turning off the multi-jog leader and just make it a regular radial dimension, like this:
You can then toggle "dimension to inside of arc" and use the grips on the dimensions to flip the arrow heads
I didn't check to see if you could go back in and add the dimension jog points, but play with that and see if it helps your situation and you should go ahead and open a support ticket with your VAR because it does look like a bug.
Ya this helps when using straight leaders but as soon as you add a jog to one of the branches it screws up again. So that solves half the problem i guess haha
Well, definately report that to your VAR as a bug and get an SPR going.
Skip the Multi-Jog leader and use "TYP". My two cents. Though I have to ask, isn't this part round or a turning? I agree with John and report it, another temporary simple fix would be to drag the arrow around to the actual surface tangent. It does appear to look like the radial dimension without the construction circle for a similar dimension.
Bernie, my part isn't turned, but I am actually calling out the same feature twice. The drawing was only for examples sake.
I looked but that didn't sink in! No offense intended.
