Having an annoying problem everytime I start SW and asking me to login to PDM Workgroup. We have 8 users and 2 of us are having this problem. It started after the vault server was restarted. I have "make default vault" checked.
I figured out what the problem was. I reinstalled SW and I had to login thru SW Explorer. Once I did that, the problem went away.
is it possible that something got messed up with your users/logins? Check the Vault Admin to verify they haven't changed. They should not have been affected but strange things happen.
Also make sure the save name/password boxes are checked.
Those are checked everytime.
First, ensure the Tools > Add-ins are set to activate SolidWorks Workgroup PDM for both 'Active' and 'Start Up'.
Second, verify each user is setup with 'Workgroup PDM Login' checkbox options selected for: (1) Make a default vault, (2) Save name, and (3) Save password.
Third, aside from these individual user and login options, you may also want to verify the VaultAdmin > Vault Settings > Global settings. The 'Global settings' contains a checkbox selection entitled "Force user login". If this checkbox is selected, then it will "force a user to login" every time you start SolidWorks. Simply deselect the checkbox to disable the requirement.
I'm aware the original post is quite old but we encountered the same issue with the PDM Workgroup login when upgrading to SW2017 on one system. A login through SW Explorer fixed the problem. The PDM Workgroup login no longer appears at every startup.
Edit: I did check the tick box on the "Add-Ins" tab though as when I first started SW Explorer it was not seeing the vault ...
