How to draw 3D spline on a surface for swept cut

I am trying to mold a gasket for sealing a big plastic part. The sealing surface is not a flat profile.

This is my process,

Draw a spline on a surface, and another spline in the adjecent surface and apply tangent mate.

And use this 3D sketch for Swept Cut (similar to dovetail o-ring groove).

However I run into all sorts of issues.

The sweep seems to warp within itself or generate unusual shape or the groove end is nowere close to what the groove start looks like.

Most time I cannot even generate the sweep. I have some success by using "Minimum Twist" opetion in the Swept cut feature.

I have attached an example of what I am trying to achieve. I have broken down my mold tooling into multiple smaller pieces.

I do not know how to accurately draw 3D Spline, it is so difficult to control the curvature.

Anyone have any experience in this area?

Thanks in advance,
