My company will soon be in the process of imlpementing driveworks. We have spent a considerable amount of time "scrubbing" our files and fixing broken links, getting assy models and part models up to date..
Now we would like start building all future parts/assy's to more easily faciliate the transition over to automated assemblies. Im wondering if anyone has any good references, suggestions or tips for us. webinars, classes, etc are all open to investigation. Anything that can help the process along. we do a considerable amount of part updating so my main concern is updating/replacing parts over time.
anyways, thats it..
thanks
That is a very general topic. One thing would be to carefully choose any relations you place between features and/or parts. Consider judicious use of top-down assembly modeling techniques which can help but can be dangerous in some applications. This is part of a somewhat over-used topic called "design intent".
Plan your storage/backup to allow for the flexibility you suspect you will need - PDM of some type will certainly help.
Regarding educational training - I Get It and Solid Professor are 2 good on-line training companies.
