I'm having an issue with the SolidWorks equations. To start with, I've created two equations
"var1" = 2
"var2" = "var1"/2
Multiple dimensions in the part are linked to the variable "var2" (I've tried both writing equations and using the "link value" feature). Then, whenever I save the part, SolidWorks replaces the second equation with its current value. After the save, when I reopen the equation editor the second equation has been changed to
"var2" = 1
In my actual part, the global variable "var1" is driven by a linked design table. Regardless, I can't figure out why solidworks wants to change any equation that I've written when the part is saved. Has anybody else faced this issue and found a resolution? Is there a better way to do what I'm trying to acheive? I suppose I could just have the design table drive "var2" directly, but this seems like a bad idea because "var1" and "var2" aren't really independent design parameters.
