I passed the Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) - Core today
Woohoo.... Congratulations Mathew
Thank you all. I know the 8 hour CSWP pro's may think down on this test but these are not easy. I have been using SW since 97 but never thought to much of the test, then this year when one of the guys at work took the CSWA and passed so I tried the next day and passed the CSWA, now I am addicted to taking all the test and becoming a CSWE. Six test down, at least two more to go to get the CSWE.
The tests are somewhat addicting. I havn't taken one in a while... but am toying with the idea of doing Mold Tools and Drawings.
Once you start taking the test, you can't stop. I took three over just one weekend. I am looking at the CSWE now but also later want to take Surfacing and even the Sustainability later. Don't have the software to take any of the FEA's but my company may purchase later this year or next.

What did you find the most challenging part if you don't mind me asking.
I think you brought up some good "challenging" points in your list. I have "been there / done that" and can agree with your list. I also think that they are typical of what we experience in a normal workday and therefore, prove the test to be valid and worthwhile.
Congrats Mathew! I just have a question, if u guys don't mind helping me... I took the solidworks class in college this semester (and passed, of course), so i have some basic knowledge... I have decided to prepare for and get CSWP sertificate, and I have just begun geting info on that matter, so if its not a problem, could you guys bring me up to speed and give me some links where i can download tutorials and examples of CSWP exams? It would help me alot to get those things from someone who passed it recently
I was told this is a good book: http://www.amazon.com/Certified-SolidWorks-Professional-Certification-Instruction/dp/1585038245
Each test has a sample on the SolidWorks website:
Don't forget about different VAR YouTube videos. Very nice work to watch.
I was hoping for a little help I have attempeted the Drawing template specialist certification 2 times, first time the network i was working on crashed mid test, but I got hung up on the relative view block, where you had to do a view of the top plane of the block they provided. I used a work plane method on that part to get the view, but the answer didnt coem out, and it showed i failed that part, anyone else have the same issue, and if so what is the correct way to do it, I tried the relative view toolar, but it only gives me a front view of the part no matter what I select for faces.
I am pretty sure that you will find that we will be hesitant to help with specific problems relating to the certification test. They are pretty fair regarding time/content even though some of us have had problems at times. Have you taken the practice test? Between that and the "help" screens, I am sure you will achieve success.
If you do have any problems with the practice tests, I'm sure we will be willing to help.
This is why going to your local User Group is a good idea. SWUGN.org!!
I agree with Jeff also. The practice test are the first step. In regards to your machine crashing, I would email the cert team. They are real nice and may help you with this. email@example.com
