There may be several possibilities. You say you are running SW2011 on a new computer - How new is the operating system? If it is Win 8, SW2011 was not supported on it. Also, the newest graphic driver may not be the best for 2-yr old SW. Check the Hardware suggestions on the Customer Portal.
The OS is Windows 8, And the drafting program is solid works is 2011.
I had NVDIA walk me though installing new drivers, I figured that are must be good. I will try to find the customer portal next.
The problem may be that you are running SW2011 on Windows 8. It may work, but maybe not.
It does sound like a graphics card/driver problem. Try running SolidWorks RX and choosing to diagnose your system. It may indicate what the problem areas are.
SW2013 is the first release that is supported on Windows 8. I have seen at least one other post from someone having problems trying to get an older release of SW to run on Windows 8. You may be out of luck. You can try various drivers for the Quadro 2000. Maybe one of them will work.
This helped to confirm that we either need to replace our entire group of computers with windows 8 and up grade solid works to 2013 or down grade one computer to windows 7 so it can work with the rest of the companies computers. You can guess which way we will go, as windows 8 is prone to headaches.
