Problem with animating an assembly with a geneva mechanism

Could anyone tell me where i'm going wrong. I have tried to do the basic motion study on the attached assembly but it is failing. I have done all the mating for all the components including the geneva mechanism parts and constraint the components but it keep on giving me this messange "3D Contacts in Basic Motion are not compatible with certain SolidWorks features, including component patterns, advanced mates, and mechanical mates, and you may experience incorrect results."

Could anyone just check on my attached assembly and correct me where i went wrong.

On my mobile so can't look at the files.

Do you have those elements? If so, remove them and try again. If the assembly doesn't move when you drag it, motion isn't going to work. Remember that if you're using contact, remove the mates if they also exist. For example, gear mates don't need to exist if you use contact between the teeth.

Do you have solidworks motion? Turn it on and try that solver.

  i think i don't have the elements and i can drag the assembly freely. Also there are no mates such as gear mates. Solidworks motion is present also.
  
  If you can get time please just check the file. It is hard to explain here.

    you need to use a pack and go to generate a zip file with your assembly and all the files that go with it for someone to take a look at it
    
    based on looking at it in large design review (components not resolved) it looks like to me that it isn't really setup for a motion study. there are probably too many mates at the top level which are causing you trouble. before you start working on this assembly, setup a simple assembly with just the basic components of the geneva mechanism and see if you can get that to work. if you can, then you can add the rest of your components as subassemblies..etc to those components.

      There are not too many mates. I have tried the motion on a simple assembly consisting of the basic components of the geneva mechansim but it is still not working. If i apply a motor to the geneva crank or the wheel it will perfectly rotate that component were the motor is applied but motion is not transmitted to the other component.
      
      Basically the component with the motor attached will spin nicely but the driving pin which is suppose to engage with the slots in order to cause motion of the wheel, will however, just pass the slots. I applied contact between the crank and the wheel but it seems like contact body is not taken into account thereafter.

        if a simple version isn't working, my guess is that basic motion's contact algorithm isn't enough and that you need to swap to solidworks motion.
