Hi,
Using SolidWorks 2011 x64 and I am new to routing.
Have been trying to add a pipe elbow via "add fitting" and keep receiving the following error message:
The component cannot be aligned. Connection point and route point may be too close. The component will be deleted.
The pipe routing prior to this point was also created via "add fittings".
Also, it seems that no matter where I try to add the pipe elbow I receive this same error message.
I appreciate any insight into what is causing this problem and how to resolve it.
Thanks.
Without seeing the actual part it's a bit difficult. Besides that there's also the fact that it's unknown how much you know about Routing.
For instance, it doesn't make sense to me that you created "pipe routing" by means of "add fittings". There for I guess you have no prior knowledge of Routing, haven't followed the training at a VAR nor spend time with the help files or youtube demostrations.
I would highly advise you do.
About your issue :
Did you create the pipe elbow yourself and if so did you use the Routing Wizard to check it has all that it needs to have ?
Does it have a design table with the prescribed colomns?
Does it have the mimimum 2 CPoints and the ends of the two brances of the elbow?
Does it have a Rpoint and if so where is it located in the elbow? (Preferable it should be at the intersect of the two branches of the elbow)
Hope this helps you on the right track.
Have a nice one.
