You can use the bounding box function (new in SW2013). Right click on the cutlist and select create bounding box. This automatically loads dimensions for all cutlist components into the description field.
I don't use the end caps, but I'm sure you could place a sketch on it, with fully defined lines across each side where you want a dimension, place a driven dimension on the lines, and then reference these dimensions in the cut list properties. They would update if the size of the end cap changed. I use that method for weldment bodies that weren't created with the Structural Shape function.
As Dale wrote, the answer is "yes" if you use SW 2013.
I used SW 2012 , I will upgrade to SW2013 as soon as posible.
