I want to know how can i make a fillet in the 3D sketch?
why its impossible?!!?
the sketch that i want to make a fillet in the corners is attached!
i have another question and that is, can CATIA make a fillet in 3D sketchs?
Welcome to the forum. Can you please explain more about the problem you're having, because it's certainly possible to use the sketch fillet tool in SW in a 3d sketch. I do it all the time.
The only time I've seen when it wasn't possible is if the radius being called for was too large and would completely eliminate one of the lines, and that's true for 2d and 3d sketches.
hiii!thank u for your respond!
my problem is that, when i want to use the fillet switch to make a fillet for my sketch,SW could not do it and the error is "Cannot fillet curves that are not co-planar"
i understand whats the error meaning, but i dont know why cant SW with all this advancements cant do it!!!!and what can i do to solve that?
If you can post the file, maybe someone will be able to discover the reason &/or offer a solution.
sure!this is my problem file,I want to make a filet in the corners of the sketch.but i cant!
Try using the "3 point arc" instead of "fillet". Click first on one line, second click on arc then third click over either line or arc to get onto correct plane. Now make the new 3 point arc a tangent to line and tangent to arc. This will probably overdefine the sketch. Try deleting the "fixed" point you already have in the sketch. This is not an ideal solution, but try various things with this 3 point arc.
The Sketch Fillet can only be applied to co-planar sketch elements.
A "simple" alternative is to create surfaces from the sketch, apply a fillet to the corners, and then recreate a 3D sketch from the edges of the surface.
dear kelvin but i didnot under stand what did u do and said?how did u did that?
