I've been having a problem with editing design tables (new window) the past couple of months. Sometimes I will get a "select method of range class failed" error. When this happens I have to force close excel. SW doesn't respond after this so I have force close that as well. I don't know if this starting happening when I upgraded to SW 2013 or office 2013. Also, why does excell open two instances now when editing a table. It used to just open the table, now I also get a blank excell intance. Anybody else seeing this?
Thanks,
Jason
Well first thing's first. Office 2013 won't actually be supported until SolidWorks 2014 is launched at the end of the summer. I checked the knowledge base and they're saying that even though it's not supported yet, it appears to work OK. So, if nothing else, you should report this to your VAR so that they can get the SolidWorks code people to address it.
Having said that, if you upgraded Office after installing SolidWorks then you may have broken the referencing to some libraries that SolidWorks uses for design tables. In this case the remedy is usually to re-install SolidWorks.
Start by running a repair install of SolidWorks and see where that gets you.
