How can I Rebuild Assemblies by modifying equations with out having to access individual Parts

I have multiple (4) parts that I have placed into an assembly file, all 4 parts are linked to the same equation file. These 4 parts need to stay separate because they have different densities. My question is, how can I pass through an updated equation file to the assembly file and have the assembly be rebuilt by rebuilding each individual part file. I want to bypass the fact of having to go into each individual part file, updating their properties through the updated equations, then having to go to the assembly and rebuilding it after modifying the parts.

Any help would be great!

If you running SW12 or later (maybe SW11, but definitely later than SW10), then you can use a multi-body part instead of an assembly, as bodies can have different densities.

Zach,

Basically, you just build one part. Then start your next part with the base feature and uncheck "Merge result" in the Property Manager for whatever that base feature is. Then check "Merge result" for later features and select the correct body to merge them with.

You could try to save the work in your existing parts by inserting the parts into a new part. I think you can save your feature definitions by checking "Break link to original part".

This is two years too late, but to anyone else encountering this problem.

The force rebuild does not update the parts inside the assembly. To rebuild all your parts, find a macro that cycles through all your parts and include the .forcerebuild command.
