I am sketching a pipe centerline at a slope to the top plane and I want to identify the point where it pierces a vertical cylindrical face.
I suppose because the cylinder is not in the sketch, this is not straightforward.
I could calculate the height of the point with trigonometry, but surely there is a SW technique for this.
John,
You can use an Intersection Curve (under the Convert Entities icon). Select the face of the cylinder and you will get lines where the cylinder intersects the sketch plane. Convert them to construction lines and add a point coincident with the intersection of your pipe centerline.
