I am building an assembly where I want to create a coincident mate between a construction axis of a cylindrical part to a construction plane and am not having much luck. Can't see why I can not do this, but am not having much luck.
You should be able to mate these two together, but clearly there is more to this. If you would like to upload the file I will be happy to have a look.
Try using the temporary axis. You will need to turn them on by clicking on the view pulldown menu and selecting temporary axis.
I created both the construction axis and plane in the assembly, and therefore was not part dependent. I assumed that creating construction planes and axis fell to the part level. Bad assumption....
reference geometry created at the assembly level is an assembly feature and not a part feature.
As Brian said, either the plane, axis, or both will need to be in the Part, not the Assembly.
