Hi there, first time poster.
I am currently studying at AUT in Aickland and have made a small Automaton for our intoriduction to Solidowrks. I have most pieces working except for the quesiton mark.
I have mated the little dowel and ?-oval as a cam so it is following each other. Is that the correct mate for these 2 pieces, or should I use anoter method. The other question is how to constrain the ?-oval so that is moves around the axle correctly as well. If I move the part manually slowly, it works but as soon as I rotate faster, the ?-oval passes through the axle.
One more question, one of my class mates has a weird thing happening when he switches between assembly and motion study. All parts are pieced together correctly in assembly but as soon as he switches to motion study, some parts move out of place??? what is happening here?

can you post the assembly?
are you looking to do this specifically with animation (mates) or motion (contact would also be available)
on your colleagues issue, this sound specific to one assembly. what happens if you have a brand new motion study? (i'd make this a new thread)
