Can you tell me what’s happening from my Solidworks 2013 SP3.0 when I open a drawing from a assembly use right mouse click on a part?
Looks like you've same files in two different location and SW is promoting/asking you to chose as which one of the two you want to open.
That's very bad habit to have same files in two different location. I did ask our IT department, one folder is a network folder and another one is a mapping folder. It looks Solidworks 2013 get confusing. I don't have this problem for Solidworks 2012.
Does anyone have any solution?
One method is to tell SolidWorks to start looking in a particular folder. In Tools/Options/System Options/External References check "Search file locations for external references". Then in Tools/Options/System Options/File Locations under "Show folders for:" pick Referenced Documents and then add the folder that you wish to normally work in.
I'm not familiar with the differences between SW2012 and 2013, but I suspect that the difference might be that you have somehow set up your system to search the network in 2013 and you just searched locally in 2012. I'm not familiar with how that would be done.
I did try your way for all the changes, but I still have the same problem. I also notice the main folder has this icon in there, but I don't know what's that icon meaning. I think it may be something link to that icon to cause my problem. here is the screenshot.
I don't think SW is getting confused rather it is asking you as which file you want to open.
The green mark on the folder is a window sync function and not some thing related to SolidWorks.
