Adding row to SolidWorks BOM

I'm trying to add a row to a BOM generated by SolidWorks in a drawing.  It allows me to insert a row and begin typing in the cell.  But, when I exit the cell, my input disappears, and I am unable to add anything to this new row.  What am I doing wrong?
