SolidWorks 2012 keeps hanging at startup

Question asked by Dave Klimas on May 16, 2013

Looks like I had a bunch of Windows 7 updates last night and some registry updates this morning when I started my computer.

Everything was fine when I shut SW down last night. When I start it up this morning I get the attached error message and it won't go aways after waiting for about 30 minutes.

If I just cancel the process and restart SW it starts over every time. Takes about 15 minutes for the green bar to get across the dialog box.

What is SW actually preparing when I get this message? I've been using 2012 for months now without this issue.

I'm guessing I'm going to need to reinstall SW if it doesn't resolve itself.

Windows 7 Professional

SW 2012 sp 5
