Attached should be a Solidworks Part called "Horn Keep Studs.sldprt"

Its a specially made stud for part of a steam locomotive which results in an odd mix of metric and imperial screw threads. Imperial where it screws into tapped holes in the 1950's built locomotive and metric where we now use bought in fasteners.

Opening the drawing you should see a 23mm square section 30mm long. Sticking out of one face is a 110mm long cylinder 22mm diameter and a 22mm long 22.23mm (7/8") diameter cylinder from the opposite face.

Having got this far I realise that I have no idea how to do external threads. The longer cylinder should be M22 and the shorter one 7/8 BSW.

Could some kind soul tell me how, show me how or do it for me please?

(I am also struggling with a poor internet connection, a laptop that isn't really up to solidworks and lodgings that don't offer much of an office space as i am volunteering at the railways workshops and foolishly left this evening saying "no problem, i'll have the drawings in the morning")

Thanks in anticipation

Paul Martin
