helloooo, easy one i guess
i have a 3.5 in tall nut on which i would like to apply a force pulling down on the bottom half and another pulling up on the top half : a threaded rod is screwed in the bottom half (weight is hanging) and another stud is threaded in the top half the whole part is attached to something fixed.
normaly i would use a split face for conventional parts, im not too sure how to do this correctly with this case
how can i do this?
thanks
Haven't had a chance to look at your file but why won't a split line work in the situation you describe? Or are you having trouble creating the split line?
Is the problem that you want to keep the threaded Rods instead of just working with forces? If you keep the rods, you don't have to do anything. The bonding will happen only between the coincident overlapping faces. This assumes your threading is just a cylindrical hole and rod (ie, no actual threads).
