Hi
I have a medium size assembly (100+ parts) and I am trying to make a master BOM including weldment cut lists for manufacturing.
Is there a way to incluede weldment cut lists into the BOM to generate a large excel file for every single part in the assembly? Some of the weldment parts will have to be broken into parts instead of structural memebers (for example if I have an angle iron and a flat bar)
Doing this automatically will save lots of manual work to aggregate all the parts into a comprehensive cut list and deciding on how to fabricate them (e.g. laser cutting vs. CNC)
Thanks
Karim
At our company we make all inclusive BOM's at times and when you insert that BOM table into your drawing or model there are 3 options under "BOM Type".
1. Top-level only
2. Parts only
3. Indented
In your case you may want to select "Indented" because this will show your not only your weldment items, but the cut list associated with them below that item number (shown on image below).
In order to get this indented BOM to work, you need to click on this 3 arrow target (located in the middle of the BOM table).
You can then manage your weldments by right clicking on the weldment symbol. You may dissolve the weldment cut list items into seperate parts if you wish.
Hope this helps.
