Found a bug that cost me half of a day to fix:
When using card templates, if an "input formula" driven field is marked read-only, the data won't transfer to the generated file.
Solution: Don't mark it read only.
We ran into this when we upgraded to 2012 sp4....i hope its fixed in 2013 sp2...
Nope, I'm on 2013sp2
2018 SP1, still not fixed.
The knowledge base mentions that it only affects multiline text fields, do you have that checked?
Card: A variable in a read only multiline field that uses an Input Formula used in template, file or folder card fails to save. (Follows from SPR 659256.) Turn off the multiline option if possible to workaround the issue
Multiline not checked.
My workaround - made a fake field that shows the same input formula, read only. Real field is hidden on another tab.
We're on 2012 sp3 and no issue.....looks like sp4 broke it. This is going to stink when we upgrade to 2013 unless they fix it in a service pack soon. Nice workaround though.....we may have to make use of that.
I was trying to find a work around for this same issue. I was able to make the field work properly and act as a read only field by using the Control Logic > Grey Out and setting the parameters to something that is always true. Example: When document number = x, grey out. Since the document number never is a letter, the field is always grey and therefore read only.
Hey thanks that is a good workaround.
2018 now, still never implemented? how come?
SPRs 659256 and 705279 are both closed/implemented so if this is happening in 2018 it's probably a regression that needs to be reported so it can be fixed again.
Yeah it looks like it was on SPR 694996. Looks like it regress back in 2012 too.
