hello Jeff, thanks for answer...
I have verified your hypothesis: "Downloads location" of Chrome is my desktop, and nothing in the vault appear to be a part of Chrome...
I also tried to uncheck all the extensions of Chrome, but nothing change...
...any other idea?....
I have no idea.
If I was in your place, the next thing I would try would be to uninstall Chrome. Then log out of the vault and exit EPDM
Now reinstall Chrome and assuming you are still out of EPDM, --we can hope nothing in Chrome is using files within EPDM?
This is an interesting problem! Keep us in the loop!
Gianotti,
I have been having this same problem, and cannot track down where it is coming from. I recently updated some API's, but uninstalling them did not fix the issue. It's actually causing some serious license issues, since users who don't need a license are logging in when they get the prompt and holding on to it.
What version of chrome and EPDM are you running?
Chrome version: 26.0.1410.43m
EPDM Client Version: 12.02.0615
This may be different, but it is similar in the respect the ePDM is getting launched to login when just browsing.
S-052243:
What can cause Enterprise PDM login dialogs to show frequently for vaults not logged into when right-clicking folders on the task bar or typing paths in address bar in Windows® 7?
Windows 7 adds so called "jump lists" containing links to recently (frequent) opened folders and files. If the jump list contains vault folders, and the user is not logged into the vault in question, it will likely show a login prompt when Windows is displaying the folders.
To prevent this from happening disable the jump list as follows:
1. Right-click on the taskbar and select “Properties”
2. In the “Taskbar and Start Menu properties” dialog box, switch to Start Menu tab
3. Deselect the option named “Store and display recently opened items in the Start menu and the taskbar” to the disable jump lists feature
4. Click on the “Apply” button to save the changes.
I bet something within Chrome is pointing to a file within your vault.
Is your "Downloads" location pointing to a location within the vault? Did you install any Chrome extensions in the vault?
