mates not sticking on 2012

im adding mates to my assembly

everythings good , then 10 seconds later

I go back to check and the mate is gone.

any ideas? Thanks

i have 2012 sp 5

1. Do you have "for positioning only" checked when you create the mate?
2. Are you switching configurations?

The first thing that comes to mind is that the box may have been checked for "Use for positioning only" near the bottom of the PropertyManager for the Mate command.
