YSWUG Meeting Notice

Question asked by Chris Scarlett on Mar 29, 2013

This is a notice of our upcoming meeting in just about 6 weeks, Thursday May 9th at the Oxford Suite’s in Yakima in their 1st floor meeting room, 6 – 8pm.

Please contact us, if you plan on attending, so we can plan for refreshments (sub sandwiches, pizza, chips and pop).

Elliot Weber, will be demonstrating both Weldments and Sheet Metal applications in SolidWorks with a presentation called: “All-in-One Design” “Multi-body Part Designs using Sheet Metal and Weldment tools in SolidWorks”.  He will also be giving us a short presentation on the new “SolidWorks Electrical” which provides bi-directional linking capabilities that capture design changes in both the 2D schematic and the 3D model.

Elliott comes to us with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and is an application engineer at Hawk Ridge Systems in the Seattle area

I would also like to try something new at this next meeting.  Come to the meeting with some sort of SolidWorks related issue with the intent of getting some help on it, in an interactive forum.  The issues can be anything from sketch geometry problems, part or assembly error resolution, getting features to perform better or faster, mouse shortcuts, drawing link problems, best practices for Simulation or just about anything SolidWorks related that you want to improve your performance on. This would be interactive and involve anyone at the meeting that would like to contribute.  I don’t have a name for it yet so, for now, how about “The SolidWorks Clinic”.   Don’t forget to bring your SolidWorks files.

Raffle items, with a drawing at the conclusion of the meeting, include: several $25 gift cards for Exxon-Mobile provided by the Rapid Group and various stylish apparel items, caps and other SolidWorks related prizes from the SolidWorks Users Group Network.

Please visit our group website for additional information.
