I have some trouble constraining the part shown in attachments. Please suggest on ways of constraining the part that would simulate the practical case.

with a fixture you're restraining both directions. there is no fixture that lets you restrain in one direction and not the other. that can only be done with contact.

There are several answers for you question.
First answer is virtual wall. But you shall answer my question first. What you expect to see/get as result?
I want displacement on points on the outermost edge as shown in this fig. Because of the constraint i hardly get any deflection there.
Also there is no place where i can constrain the model in y dir. (i have a force that is applied on the top surface).
Ideally i would want the highlighted region to deflect in -y direction under the action of pressure and be constrained in +y direction (No deflection under the action of load on the top face).
Please let me know the ways of doing that.
P.S - The part in consideration is a circular part. I have consider only a quarter section as the part is symmetric and in order to constrain the model in all degree of freedom such that the model does not fly off.
Sandeep, the Y direction restraint that you've chosen sets the nodes on that face = 0 displacement. Meaning it won't move in either direction. Go with Rado's suggestion of a virtual wall or contact between your component and another component with no penetration contact sets between them. That way they can separate or interact.
