Is there anyway possible to convert files back to solidworks SW12? Everytime i try to open them im getting not possible future version only (SW13)! I have received files in SW13 version?
Thanks in advance,
no not with features.
one of 2 things..... up grade to SW2013 or have the people sending the files save as parasolids and then you will have to open that in SW2012.
Now the part will come in as a dumb solid, meaning a solid body without feature...just a blob with no smarts. If you need the capability to change upgrading to SW3013 is your only solution, Sorry.

Thanks Lenny, i was thinking so, onwards and upwards
Make sure that you are running SW2012 SP5 if you want to open a model that was created in SW2013.
still can't modify feature can only use them for assemblies to put stuff together still just a band-aid
True, although it is a start in the right direction.
We had a similiar situation whereby we have 4 workstations, 2 of which were still running on XP so we couldn't upgrade to SW2013 until we upgraded the hardware. Just fortunate that we have an understanding Technical Director otherwise our it would be a pain to have 2 workstation running 2012 and the remaining on SW2013.
uderstanding would be to but 2 new computers..... xp doesn't make use of more than 3 gig of ram...
