I am woking on an assembly and there is one part with different features i want the part to be all black but that one feature, i want that feature to be gold, how can i do this? If i pick the color as black the whole part will be black, even the feature that i want in gold

RMB on the face and select appearances when the popup window appears select the red X then RMB again and select appearance and change color.
There are several layers of paint you can apply to your model.
The closest to the raw material is the part color. On top of it you have the body color, after that the feature color, followed by the face color, the component color (in assembly) and closest to the surface you have the whole assembly color.
If you have already applied colors to the outer layers, you have covered the inner layers.
