Is it possible to automatically float the fist part dropped into an assembly.

Currently, it appears that when you drag and drop the first part into an assembly, it is always fixed in position.  Is there an option to leaving this assembly component floating by default?  Around here we always float this component, then add a coincident mate with align axies checked to align the first part to the assembly origin.  This lets all of the parts in the feature manager tree of the assembly have the first numbers of their part number in-line.

It would be nice to set an option in our assembly template to not fix the fist component by default and save some clicks.
