I'm not able to merge two cells in the same column, as shown in image,, I want to merge the cells shown in red box.
Welcome to SolidWorks forums Justin.
Don't you get the option "merge cells" when you select the two cells and right click.
You might also find this post helpful for your future reference.
But I don't get the option to "merge cell" when I selcect two cells , out of which one is from the top row:(
Can you attach your BOM template or one plane drawing with the BOM to check.
In case you need to attach a file (picture, video, SolidWorks file) with your reply, please use advanced editor in the reply post.
Hi Deepak Thank you for your reply,
Unfortunately I'm not able to save it as a BOM template after making modification as shown in the above image.
ie, in the image shown, I have added one row(row2) and made the item numbers hidden for that row. Also merged two cells in the 1st row (Finished size). If I save this BOM as template and open it again, the row2 (the one without item number ) is not showing up
Insert the table in a new drawing and send/attach that drawing.
Here is the drawing attached.

I had exactly the same problem. The solution is to either ‘select and drag’ or SHIFT-select the two adjacent cells (NOT Ctrl-select), then you will get the merge command.
No!!! it works for normal cells, but i had a different problem i want to merge a cell from 1st row!! none of the above works
OK Sorry. I assume it won't work because the 1st row contains Custom file properties?
yes its linked to custom properties ,,but we can edit the content of those cells without loosing the link to custom property..Lets see if anyone comes up with a new idea
