I would like to open up a discussion on (if you've read the title then it’s no surprise) weldments.  If we were to break down some workflows and/or functionality into bullet points:

I’m asking the general question on everything “Creation, limitations, etc… what would you like to see done better and/or addressed to better accommodate your workflows?”

  • Creating weldments using assemblies or using the part weldment functionality (hybrid of both)

Why and/or why not do you use a particular workflow? Advantages, weaknesses, limitations, company process, etc… (Please be very specific if you want to here)

  • Structural Member feature/Grouping/Joints

  • Gusset feature
  • End Cap feature
  • Trim/Extend feature
  • Weld Beads
  • Derived/Inserted Parts
  • Sub-Weldments
  • Cut List – (Automatic updating, Automatic grouping, custom properties and dialog, drawing cut list, etc…)
  • Drawings: Weld beads, weld callout/annotations/tables, etc...)

Please feel free to comment on anything in particular you feel interested to give feedback on (listed or not listed here as again, this is just to get the discussion started and ask the general question….“Creation, limitations, etc… what would you like to see done better and/or addressed to better accommodate your workflows?”

Thanks for any and all feedback,
