We are getting ready to upgrade to 2013 soon and want any positive/negative feedback before we start the process. Thanks
We haven't upgraded yet, but I started testing in a duplicate environment. I have come across the following issues so far:
Thanks, sometime soon we will set up a test environment. I am probably going to wait for SP3.0 unless a project hits that requires us to upgrade to 2013 now. We do use "always use latest version" option.
Could you explain more about your first issue? I'm not clear on exactly what the steps are to get this to fail.
Of course. First, enable the "always works with the latest version of files" setting. Then open a SolidWorks file that is checked in. It will open as read only. Next, from the EPDM explorer window (not SolidWorks) on the same computer in which the file is open, transition the document to a different workflow state. Our transition sets some variable values to null. Then check out the file from within SolidWorks. At this point, EPDM/SolidWorks should get the latest version of the file, but it doesn't. The old version of the file is now checked out in SolidWorks. In other words, the variables that should be been set to null during the transition are not set to null.
Thanks for the heads-up Jeremy - that would kill us here
I wonder when SP3.0 will come out? I hate to upgrade to 2.0 and have 3.0 drop soon after since it's such a pain to upgrade all the clients and the downtime for server upgrades
