View selector settings and/or disabling?

We (finally) installed SW2013 at work and this new view selector thing is driving me nuts.

In the past, I used the spacebar view menu heavily, especially the "normal to" when sketching. In '13, when I hit the spacebar, it brings up the graphical menu, the ice-cube looking view selector, and orients my model in an isometric view, zoomed out. This slows things down considerably, and is quite honestly, very annoying when working with large models. Furthermore, I've yet to find a method to view normal to a sketch that I'm working on that is as quick and simple as what I was used to doing in '12.

My question is, where are the settings for the view selector? Can I disable some of the features?

Thanks.
