I am setting up Workgroup PDM and having a play around before I start using it for real. Is it possible to move model files between vault project (sub)folders? For example if I wanted to create another subfolder within a project and move some files to that. I can't seem to move files that are within the vault. Surely they're not locked into where they are initially saved.

Yes, based upon the Vault Admin settings a user can have privileges to create sub-Projects (see Vault Admin / Vault Settings) and to relocate files (see Vault Admin / Projects / RW read/write access).
If the desired folder does not already exist, then you should create it first, whether at a top or sub-level. Please note VaultAdmin / Projects is required to create a new top-level Project folder.
Then, take ownership of the file you want to relocate. Right-click on the file and in the pop-up menu, select 'Change Project'. In the 'Change Document Project' dialog, you can then select the desired folder from a drop-down. There will also be a checkbox that will allow for including any children (i.e.: associated models, drawings) that you want to have relocated too.
