I am trying to create a simple animation by changing mate values at different points in the time line. I am only using two mates; this is a short animation. When I change the mate the default interpolation is linear which is what I want. But, when I play the animation it treats each mate interpolation as a snap. I've tried to change to the other interpolations to see if I get different results. So far I have not found a solution. What is strange is I can select different points in the time line and the model will show the mate transitioning tot he desired value. However, when I play or record the animation it appears to snap.
Thanks for any help you can give.

If you expand your mates in the motion study, and hit the plus sign next to the distance mate you're animating, does it look like this picture (A grey distance mate, then a black one)? If yes, move your timebar to the zero time position, rmb on the 'greyed out' distance mate, and unsupress it. Calculate your animtation and see if it works properly now.
