I am currently modelling a lifting/suspension simulation and I am using Links to act as the ropes. I am not concerned with stress/displacement in the ropes or at the lifting point. I am only concerned with the effect of gravity on the suspended assembly.
My question is: do the links act like ropes i.e. fixed length, fixed to the model at each end, yet allow the model to deform? Or do they act as if each end of the link is fully restrained in x,y,z. axis?
(if it helps you can imagine my model to look like a suspended shoe box or a 12m long womans handbag!!!)
